Mary Magdalene DeLoach Lewis, 75, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Candler Hospital. She was born in Glenville, Georgia, daughter of Wilford DeLoach, Sr. and Dorothy Todd DeLoach. She lived most of her life in Savannah and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Mrs. Lewis was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed visiting at the Senior Citizen Center on the eastside. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barnell Lewis, Jr. and her siblings.
She is survived by her son, Barry Lewis Beverly, of Fleming, GA; three daughters, Elaine Waters, Sharon Anderson John, Sandra Calhoon, all of Savannah; sister, Ruby Hazel Bacon of Austin, GA; brother, Wilford DeLoach, Jr. of Claxton, GA; three granddaughters, Amy Hulette, Lindsay Calhoon, Sarah Anderson; one grandson, James Roberts; two great-grandsons, Jacob Roberts and Brandon Ernest Hulette, Jr., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Reverend Thomas East officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
