Edward, I am very sorry to here of Eddies passing. He was such a dear friend to me. I was intoduced to him when I was nine as my soccer coach. He was such a tough one, but that what made Eddie Eddie. I have sat here in New Zealand and though of all the things your father taught me. He taught me respect, loylaity, hournor and how to be a great person. I could always trust, when I needed your dad he was their for me. He never ask but he always gave a 100%. From time to time I would call and see how he was doing and it was always good to talk to him with his funny sense of humor. I was home last November 2010 I had lunch with your dad a couple of times and played soccer with him, a game he loved so much. He talked about your son and how he loved spending time with him. I am very sad that this man who I looked up too is now gone. Savannah soccer has lost a great man. As I have lost a great friend.

I moved to Savannah in 1973. I met Eddie through Soccer in 1974 when he arrived in Savannah. We became quick friends. When he married his wife Carol from NY, I hired her as my office manager. She was an awesome employee. Eddie was one of the earliest pioneers of soccer in Savannah-both at the youth and adult level. He and BabeGeorge Saunds did more to promote soccer in Savannah than ANYONE else. I had the privilige to play and coach soccer with Eddie for over 20 years. He was the best and toughest soccer player I have ever seen. When the game was on the line, all we had to do was get the ball to Eddie. He had a profound positive influence on the lives of hundreds of young men over the last 5 decades. He was a tough-love role model for young men from all walks of life. He used the soccer field as a character-building training ground. The list of his boot-camp graduates is long and distinguished. Eddie Ramirez was one of my oldest and dearest friends.

- Ben Farmer, Savannah, GA

My deepest condolences and prayers for all of you! He was an amazing man with a teddy bear heart- sometimes just took a while for it to show! I will always remember your dad for the kindness and generosity that he showed to those he loved and cared about! After all, he drove to Augusta and helped move me home to Savannah. He truly was an incredible man who shows us all how hard work pays off! He will be missed! I know he and Cujo are sitting together or rather taking a run together in the fields of Heaven.
