Lester  Jump, Jr.

Savannah- Lester Jump, Jr., 53, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at his residence.
He was a graduate of Jonesboro Senior High School in Jonesboro, Georgia. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. He attended the Great Lakes Navy School and began work in Boiler Operations where he serviced heating, air and water purification on board submarines. After discharge from the service he began his career in maintenance where he worked for Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia and most recently with Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah. He was an avid golfer but his life's passion was the Jaycees. There he was awarded the coveted Life Time Member Award and served as Executive Vice President for the Georgia Jaycees.
Survivors include his father, Lester Jump, Sr. and mother, Carolyn Jump of McDonough, GA; sisters, Mary E. Jump, Virginia Jump; brothers, Robert C. Jump, Jeremy D. Jump; step-sister, Judie Couch, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Jonesboro, Georgia.

I never met Lester, but I wish I had. I met with several people associated with GA Regional after his passing I was there on business and they were all very saddened by his passing.
