I had Mrs.deRojas for 8th grade spanish, early 80's.She was an amazing woman and teacher!I admired her for her strength and courage. She shared stories of her life in Cuba .The only one I seem to recall, her husband being held as a pow .Years later I read of his release and was elated. Her class was the only one I ever excelled in,I have thought of her often over the years and have missed her.She is once again reunited with the husband she loved so dearly, for that,I am happy.God bless you all and Rest in peace Mrs.deRojas.

To the de Rojas family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all in the loss of your mother. Although I did not know her, your father and Maria were teachers of mine many years ago at River North Academy and at Wesleyan College. I thought a lot of both and wanted to send words of sympathy to you in the loss of your mother.
