Patrick "Glenn" Mahany
Patrick "Glenn" Mahany, 78, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at Hospice House. He was born in Oliver, Georgia, son of the late Lawrence and Thelma Harley Mahany. Mr. Mahany lived in Savannah most of his life, was a graduate of Benedictine Military School and received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Armstrong State College. He was employed with the Department of Agriculture for many years and retired as a chemist from the United States Customs. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, and an ordained deacon. He was a member of The Gideons International, where he was instrumental in leadership and planning in the state of Georgia.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Sara Ruth McDonald Mahany; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kelli Mahany; daughter, Debby Beam; four grandchildren, Lindsay Blakey and her husband, Justin; Joshua Beam and his wife, Ashley; Anna Kate Mahany and Taylor Mahany, great grandchildren, John Beam and Jack Blakey, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by the Reverend Dr. Allan W. Bosson.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances: The Gideons International, Memorial Bible Chairman, P.O. Box 14048, Savannah, GA 31416, and Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
