Passed away on April 23, 2019

Sarah Katherine Davis Bridges, 89, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 surrounded by family at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
Sarah was born September 4, 1929 in Louisville, GA in Jefferson County and lived most of her life in Savannah. Sarah graduated from Louisville Academy, Louisville GA and attended nursing school in Augusta GA. Sarah worked at Jefferson County Hospital in Louisville GA and attended X-ray technician school at Candler Hospital in Savannah and worked with Dr. Robinson Radiologist. Sarah owned and operated Bridges Wood Products, a custom cabinet & casework company until she retired at 65.
She is survived by her husband, Emmet L. Bridges of Savannah, GA; daughter, Glenda Joyce Bridges Gunby and son-in-law, Jimmy of Savannah, GA; she was known as Gran to grandchildren, Katheryne "Taylor" Gunby, Garrison Bridges Gunby, Jimmy O'Neal Gunby, III and his wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Carter and Amelia Grace and sister, Martha Gay Strickland of Athens, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Gee Davis and Irene Arrington Davis and her siblings, Hobby, Lonnie, Mary, Jr., Dot.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
April 25 2019 Dear Glenda and Mr. Bridges, We are all saddened by the lost of your mother! It is an end of a grand era for sure! In our childhood Mrs. Bridges made us walk the straight narrow and in our adulthood she offered us some serious wisdom! We all will miss her beautiful smiling face!
