Celebrating the life of

Jeffrey Michael Fox

July 09, 1982 - February 22, 2012

Jeffrey Michael Fox

Jeffrey Jeff Michael Fox, 29, of Savannah, Ga., passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at Memorial University Medical Center after a sudden illness.

Born in Savannah, Ga., on July 9, 1982, Jeff attended South Effingham High School but lived most of his life in Savannah. He was employed by Keller Williams Realty Downtown, which he enjoyed immensely due to the camaraderie of his co-workers.

Jeff possessed a magnanimous personality with a larger than life heart. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends, his loving dog Penny, and smoking a good cigar. Jeff was especially touched by members of his recovery community, and in turn was proud to play a part in helping others change their lives.

His memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Abercorn, with The Very Reverend William Willoughby lll, EdD officiating. A life celebration will be held immediately following the service at Boot's Dock on Whitemarsh Island.

Jeff is survived by his mother and stepfather Jodi Fox and Buddy Gillikin of Savannah, Ga.; his father and stepmother, Stanley L. and Loretta Fox, of Rincon, Ga.; his sister, brother-in-law and nephews, Sonia, Fred, Jake, Luke and Riles Fuller of Atlanta; his brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, Jerry, Jana and Kimball Fox, of Rincon, Ga; as well as his maternal grandmother Helen "Boots" Bryant of Savannah; and aunts Claire Bryant of Savannah and Laura Bryant of Richmond, Va.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Jeff's honor to Bridges of Hope lll, Stapleton, Ga., The Humane Society of Greater Savannah, or to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

We are blessed with some people for a brief time – they shine SO brightly and then they are on their way. I learned by watching Jeff, not just listening but watching, that through perseverance, patience, and love anything can be overcome. Thank you for showing me how it’s done - wish you weren’t finished so soon here, I will never forget your zest for life and how much you genuinely loved people. I think you accomplished the biggest obstacle we all face on this earth; you liked the guy in the glass.

Dear grieving family, My wife and I are very sorry for your tremendous loss and would like to express our condolences to the entire family. We cannot imagine the great pain and sorrow you are experiencing during this most difficult time. When we lose someone we love so dearly we are left with a very strong desire to see that person again. It's wonderful to know that God has promised we will see our loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. John chapter 5 verses 28 and 29 gives this wonderful reassurance: 'Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life.' What a marvelous hope! Once again we wish to express our condolences to the family. And although we cannot erase the pain and sorrow you are feeling, it is our hope that this can give you a small measure of comfort.
