Walter G. Beasley, III, 85 passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Hospice Savannah.
He was born February 2, 1927 in Savannah to the late Walter G. Beasley, Jr. and Evelyn Cook
Beasley.
Walter was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church and served his country in the
United States Navy as well as the Air Force. He was a past President of the National Purchasing
Association. He lived and worked in Atlanta where retired from Emory University as the
Director of purchasing. After retirement he and his family returned to Savannah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Rose Watson.
He is survived by his daughter, Eileen Brady of Savannah, three sons, Walter G. Beasley, IV of
Vero Beach, Florida, Hugh Beasley of Decatur, Georgia, and David Beasley of Tucker, GA, seven
grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors,
Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors,
Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Jim Morrow officiating.
Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
