SAVANNAH - Ollie Martha Patrick DeLoach died peacefully Thursday March 22, 2012 in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Born October 3, 1923 Ollie lived her entire life in Savannah, Georgia and recently moved to Cleveland, Georgia in 2010 to live with her son and daughter in law who lovingly cared for her after several recent surgeries.
Ollie was a graduate of Commercial High School in Savannah and enjoyed staying in touch with friends from her Savannah High/Commercial High School days. Ollie retired in 1989 from State Farm Insurance where she worked in the Claims Division. She was a former member of Insurance Women of Savannah where she served as an officer for several years.
Ollie was a strong Christian, who served the Lord throughout her life in many ways. She was a member of Calvary Baptist in her younger years where she enjoyed the leadership of Reverend John Wilder and eventually joined White Bluff Methodist Church in her later years. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher and enjoyed working with children throughout her active years in the church.
Ollie was a devoted wife to Wendell DeLoach who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Robert Bob Wendell DeLoach Susan of Cleveland, Georgia, and a daughter Patsy DeLoach Grainger Joey of Savannah. Ollie adored her five grandchildren: Patrick Grainger, Jordan Alaine Grainger, Heather Purvis Brian all of Savannah, Stephanie Hill Dale of Navarre, Florida and Kim Weisensel Ben of Okinowa, Japan. Her later years were spent enjoying her great-grandchildren: Avery Purvis, Morgan and Addie Hill, and Jaden and Maddy Weisensel. Ollie was looking forward to a new great-grandchild to arrive in July to Kim and Ben Weisensel of Okinowa, Japan.
Ollie was one of five sisters who preceded her in death. Mrs. Herbert C. Skinner son, Herb Skinner, Mrs. Maggie Hall, Mrs. Jewell Bennett daughter, Catherine Lyles, Mrs. Jamie Berry sons, Eddie Berry and Jimmy Berry. Ollie is also survived by ten additional nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 24th at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
