Lucy Lamar O'Neal, 91, a resident of Marshview Senior Living, born September 19, 1920 to Rufus and Lula Hull in Early Branch, South Carolina, died Thursday March 29, 2012 at Hospice of Savannah.
She was married to C.B. Lamar, Sr. for 53 years and they had three children. After his death she then married Tommy O'Neal.
She worked at Memorial Hospital as an LPN for many years. After retiring she volunteered at the American Red Cross, where she received the "Volunteer of the Year" award. She also volunteered at the Community Cardio-Vascular Council for over 15 years, where she also received numerous volunteer awards.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, Rufus and Lula Hull, her brother, Eddie Hull, her sister, Betty Pulaski, her first husband, C.B. Lamar, Sr., and her second husband, Tommy O'Neal.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, C.B. Lamar, Jr. Loxie, daughters, Dianne Robinson Terry, and Barbara Helmly Vince, grandchildren, John Lamar, Paul Robinson, Michael Robinson, Leigh Ann Moriarty, Melissa Zehr, Phil Pavo, Jr., Kristen Camacho, Vince Helmly, Jr., ten great-grandchildren, her sister Lois Berg of Thornton, CO, and her sister-in-law, Louise Hull, of Dale, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Marshview Senior Living and Hospice of Savannah for their wonderful care and attention.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with The Rev. Alfred Banks officiating.
Burial will be 3:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
