Thomas Grice Durrence, 92, passed away Friday, April 27, 2012. He was born August 8, 1919 in Claxton, GA to the late William Henry and Mary Katherine Kirkland Durrence. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, and was retired from Southern Glass Company.
Thomas was a member of Crossroad Baptist Church formerly Burkhalter Baptist Church, the Men's Fellowship Sunday School, a Deacon, and a member of the Brotherhood at Morningside Baptist Church while he was a member.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Belle Patterson Durrence, and his daughter, Barbara McComb.
Thomas is survived by three daughters; Patsy Sanders, of Statesboro, GA, Debra Woods, of Savannah, and Gloria Bray, of Brooklet, GA, one son; Thomas A. Durrence, of Jefferson, GA, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in Brewton Cemetery in Hagan, GA
