I DETACHED MYSELF FROM MOST OF FAMILY 20+ YEARS AGO, I FOUND OUT OF YOUR PASSING THRU RITA IN IDAHO SOON AFTERWARDS. THANK YOU FOR THE TIMES TOGETHER. I DON'T ATTEND FUNERALS, LIKE TO FOCUS ON THE GOOD ONLY. OUR LOVE AND CONDOLENCES TO FAMILY ALWAYS.

Kenneth Ray Kennel, Cactus Pete, I miss you already! It hurts so bad to know that you won't be there to joke about my flamingo legs and the sock on my head. I'll never get to give you that banana hairstyle that I loved so much when I was younger. I'll never get to ask you, 'You ready to go to bed, Peter?' and you'll never answer, 'Purty sooooon.' There were times where I really disliked you but I have always loved you. I have really taken you for granted. You have been here my whole life, you were the first man to see me, to hold me. Thank you for being there through thick and thin. I love you, I miss you, I'll see you again.

I'm sadden by your lost, Thu and I talked about you often. We understood your love of service to our country. Knew the many hardships that you went through while performing this difficult responsibility. Knew that you made a difference in the lives of the many fellow soldiers that you served with and supported. My Dad was very happy you came home for Mom's services, I'll remember the time you took to talk to him and be with him and share those moments with him. With warm and loving thoughts always.
