SAVANNAH – Lois M. Carroll, 82, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at her home. The Scranton, PA native attended local Scranton schools and graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Southhampton Hospital School of Nursing. She received her BSN and MA from the University of Alabama, Huntsville. She was awarded a commendation from the Red Cross for using her skills to save a life.
Lois lived in Pennsylvania, New York, California, Alabama, Virginia, and Georgia, leaving each place with flowers and shrubs. She loved flowers and became a Master Gardener. She was President of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Toastmistress Club, and the GFWC.
She played a good hand of bridge and was a lifelong student of the piano.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Carroll of Savannah; two sons, Joseph and his wife Jeanne of Huntsville, AL and Robert and his wife Libby of Lilburn, GA; two grandchildren, Joey Carroll and Lacey Guy Matt; and one great-grandchild, Lily Guy.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm on Tuesday, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
