Gloria Peters Monsees
SAVANNAH – Gloria Peters Monsees, widow of the late C. Henry Monsees, passed away peacefully at her home on May 17, 2012.
Mrs. Monsees was an officer and director of Savannah Distributing Company, Inc. for over fifty years and active in many charitable, civic, and community organizations. She was a member of the Savannah Golf Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Surviving are her three children, Gloria Ann Groover, James Groover, and Henry Monsees and his wife, Patti; grandchildren, Henry Monsees, Jr., Katherine Monsees and Mary Elizabeth Monsees; her sister, Bonnie Peters Gentes and her husband, Jeff; and several nieces and nephews, She was also preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Ida Melton Peters and her brother, John A. Peters, Jr.
A private graveside service for the family will be held at Bonaventure Cemetery on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1707 Bull Street, Savannah, Ga. 31401.
