Henry Gene Williams

SAVANNAH - Henry "Gene" Williams, 69, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Hospice House.
Born in Savannah, Gene was a son of the late Woodrow and Ida Irene Beasley Williams. He was a 1960 graduate of Savannah High School and a United States Air Force veteran having served in the Philippines and as a communications inceptor during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was an avid sports fan, having been a semi-pro football and baseball player from 1965-1972. Gene was retired from a career in sales and finance management and had a lifelong interest in computers and computer programming.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Stephanie B. Wing "Sam" Williams; children, Carole Williams of Snellville, GA, Robin Harper of Durham, NC, Patrick Williams of Lincolnton, NC, Jason Williams of Cary, NC, and their spouses; brothers, Joe Williams of Eden, GA and John Williams of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00 am Monday, June 4, 2012, in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Burial: 2:00 pm Monday at Lake Cemetery in Candler County.
