SAVANNAH – Heyward B. Crosby, 86, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Savannah, GA.

Mr. Crosby was born in Walterboro, SC on July 17, 1925. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served during World War II in Japan. He was a proud member of the IBEW for 60 years and was honored to have been an electrical supervisor for the original World Trade Centers. He was also a member of the team that dropped the New Years Eve Ball in Times Square. Outside of work, his hobbies included fishing and watching old westerns. Mr. Crosby was an active member of the First Baptist Church of the Islands.

Mr. Crosby is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Crosby; children, Eules Crosby and wife Susan of Myrtle Beach, SC, Terri Cerbone and husband Tom of Savannah and Craig Crosby and wife Monica of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, David Crosby of Scranton, PA, Ryan Crosby of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Colby Crosby of White Plains, NY, Alex Cerbone of Savannah, Jenny and Brooks Lanigan, both of Richmond Hill, GA, Courtney, Zachary, and Joshua Crosby, all of Margate, NJ and Craig Crosby, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and great-granddaughter, Callie Elizabeth Lanigan of Richmond Hill, GA.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of the Islands.
