Hilda Bell Rotureau
Savannah- Ms. Hilda Bell Rotureau, 78, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in Savannah, GA.
She was a native of Newport News, Virginia and a longtime resident of Savannah. She attended Mercer University in Macon where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and earned her Master of Social Work degree at the University of Georgia in Athens. In 1986, she became a licensed clinical social worker and a licensed marriage and family therapist for the state of Georgia.
Ms. Rotureau worked for ten years at Tidelands Community Mental Health Center on the children's unit, in private practice for several years with psychiatrists, Dr. Stephen Mallory and Dr. Eli Breger and at Georgia Regional Hospital on the children's unit for ten years before retiring in 2000.
She was a member of the National Social Workers Association and maintained an Accredited Certificate of Social Work with the organization. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of the Islands, the Republican Women's Club, Savannah Women's Club, past president of the Islander's Club and several Bridge Clubs. Her sister, Doris Bell Burton preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, Craig Herbert Rotureau, daughter, Carol Rotureau Boykin and her husband, Henry Clayton Boykin, their children, Hillary Christine Boykin and Alexa Georganne Boykin, all of Savannah; sister, Virginia Newbern of Greensboro, NC and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012 at First Baptist Church of the Islands. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Ron Goldberg, Cathy Cooper and staff as well as Dr. Georgescu and staff for their many years of loving care.

Hilda was my best friend in Whigham High School. When I didn't receive a Christmas card this year I called and found the number disconnected. I am so saddened for your great loss. She was a wonderful friend whom I will miss.
