Christine Tullis Outland

Christine Tullis Outland, 86, died Thursday, July 12, 2012 in Savannah.
Ms. Outland was born in Savannah, GA on March 23, 1926, the daughter of the late Herman and Ruth Fort Tullis. After graduating high school, she began working with the Office of Housing and Price Administration and later HAAF where she met Mr. Billy M. Outland, who she later married in 1958. They traveled extensively during his military career and her civil service career, but ultimately returned to the Savannah area in 1975.
Ms. Outland was an avid gardener and enjoyed caring for pansies, petunias, and hydrangeas. She also enjoyed to crochet and sew, leaving many handmade treasures for her family to admire. Christine was a day tripper and enjoyed a car ride to the beach or to the mountains to take in and enjoy the fresh air.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Master Sergeant Billy M. Outland, USAF Ret. and her sisters, Macy Smith and Lillian Tullis Parrott. She always exclaimed that the most wonderful gift of her life was her family, of which she is survived by her daughter, Michelle Outland of Savannah.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Flowers are welcomed or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice Savannah.
