Kay Hancock, 75, passed away Friday, July 20th, 2012, at Candler Hospital.
Kay grew up in Savannah and attended Agnes Scott College & The University of South Carolina. She was a member of the Junior League of Savannah, Coastal GA Archeology Society, and a former member of the Bluffton Town Council. Kay was a loving grandmother, a lover of animals, and enjoyed reading very much.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Silas & Ethel Fields, her husband James Wallace McAlpin Hancock Jr. and her step father Charles Lawrence Fisher. She is survived by her son James Wallace McAlpin Hancock III of New York, her daughter Virginia Bostick Hancock Gump of Bluffton. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Mary B. Gump, Jackson B. Gump, James W. Hancock IV, and Lyon L.L. Hancock.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be private.

I remember Kay well during my brief houses sitting days in Bluffton around 1986/1987. She was most caring and helpful Our contact continued for several years after.
