Wayne Stephen Conley, Sr.

SFC Wayne Conley, U.S. Army Ret., 72, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Mr. Conley was born on July 25, 1940 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late John Ishmael and Lenora Hamilton Conley. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army. Following his military tenure he worked for the United States Postal Service where he retired as a carrier. He was actively involved with the 15th Infantry Division.

Mr. Conley is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Conley; sons, Wayne Conley, Jr. of Savannah, John P. Conley and wife Karen of Dublin, GA and Dan R. Conley and wife Melissa of Savannah; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Paul Conley of Miami, FL and John Conley of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Shirley Hollingsworth of Waycross, GA and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends this evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
