Glenda Beason Williams
Glenda Beason Williams, 78, died September 3rd in Savannah while surrounded by family.
She was born in Rome, Georgia, attended Dalton High School and was a graduate of LaGrange College.
Glenda was a dedicated elementary school teacher in Ohio and Georgia with a passion for making a difference in the lives of her students, following the lives of several students for over twenty years. She had a love for travel, spending three months in Europe after college and later visiting more than 20 countries. Glenda was a devoted and giving mother and grandmother. When asked about her favorite trip, she often replied, "Driving to see my grandchildren." A highlight in her later life was the annual Christmas gathering of her LaGrange College friends near Atlanta.
Glenda is survived by two sons, Todd Williams of Savannah and Trent Williams of Statesboro; a sister, Anne McQueen of Ringgold; a former husband, Ervin Williams of St. Simons Island and two grandsons, Cortland and Harrison Williams.
A memorial service will be held on September 9th at 3:00 at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta.
Glenda's request regarding flowers was, "Just tell my friends to send a flower to a family member."
As a mother, teacher and friend, Glenda will always be in our thoughts.
