Robert Preston "Pete" Cornwell, Sr.
Robert Preston "Pete" Cornwell, Sr., 90, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012. He was born August 28, 1921 in Charleston, SC and retired as an Engineer from the SCL Railroad. He was a member of BLE Division 803 and was past President of the Lion's Club. Pete loved to fish and hunt, and was past President of the Brunson Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Brunson Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie B. Cornwell, and son, Thad Cornwell.
Pete is survived by his son, Robert P. Cornwell, Jr., and his wife Dianne, daughter, Suzanne Renick, and her husband, Paul, two grandsons, Bobby and Brandon, four granddaughters, Brooke, Hillery, Lee, and Marci, and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Azalealand Nursing Home for the care given to Mr. Cornwell.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to Brunson Methodist Church, P.O. Box 473, Brunson, South Carolina 29911.
