Catherine C. Helmey, 97, of Kinston, North Carolina and formerly of Orlando, FL, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012. Mrs. Helmey was born August 9, 1915 in Savannah to the late Charles Wesley Collins and Alice Gill Collins. She was the wife of the late Herbert Helmey. Mrs. Helmey was a longtime resident of Orlando and a member of Calvary Assembly.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews which include, Patricia Collins Swisher of La Grange, NC, Wade Driggers of Richmond, VA, Alice Rothmeir and Rachel Driggers, and Allen Driggers of Savannah, GA, Stephanie Marshburn of La Grange, NC, Patricia Pytleski of Navarre Beach, FL and Stacy Smith of Raleigh, NC.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
A service of remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.
