William Bronson Fish, Sr.

Savannah- William Bronson Fish, Sr. 97, died Thursday, March 21, 2013 in Savannah
He was born in Moniac, Georgia on March 31, 1915 and was raised in Jacksonville and North, Florida. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad CSX in 1973 after 31 years of service. He served as Local Chairman, Legislative Representative and Secretary-Treasurer for the brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen now UTU in Jacksonville for many years. Mr. Fish was a member of the Albert J. Russell Masonic Lodge, The York Rite, Scottish Rite and Morocco Shrine Temple, all in Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by daughters Martha Jane and Christine Elizabeth.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; son, William and daughter-in-law, Patricia Fish; daughter, Nedra Anne Lexow; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Bailey Shull, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at 4:30 p.m. at the Mallette family cemetery, Turkey Branch Methodist Church in Effingham County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Shrine Crippled Children's Benevolent Fund at Morocco Temple, P.O. Box 16039, Jacksonville, FL 32245-6039 or Hospice Savannah, Inc. P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or the charity of choice.
