Leo was an outstanding Person. We really loved his humor and his unbreakable optimism. We will surely miss him and we feel with Traude in this time of sorrow.

We lost a loveable family member. To this date I foundly look back to the year I was able to spend with Leo and Traude when I was starting to study. And times there after when we met. I will always remember his laughs and humor and I believe he did not leave us, he just changed rooms and eventually we will meet again. Sincerely, Tina grandniece

I could not believe my eyes, as I was looking for my brothers obituary listing Bobby 'Eugene' Stembridge' and there was Leo's right above his. I remember many good times being around Leo at The Arbor Motel on the Ogeechee Road, which was owned by his aunt, Mrs. Soper. My dad did the maintenance around the motel, and I was his helper. I learned to drive on a 1952, column shift Chevrolet, driving up and down the court. As for Leo, he loved guns and loved shooting them. He had his ammo reloading station set up in the big garage at the motel. Another thing about Leo was his love of Mercedes automobiles, which was demonstrated by the beautiful old Mercedes coupe that Leo also kept in the big garage. God bless him.

So long my long-time and dear friend. You will be deeply missed, but the great memories we shared will last forever.
- LTC Thomas G. Smith, Sr., Heath, TX
I will cherish all the time I have spent with Leo. He has always been a gentleman, friend, and Brother in arms. They don't make men like Leo anymore. This world will be a darker place without him. Leo and I served many years together with the Chatham County Sheriff's Reserve and he dedicated himself to serving the citizens of Chatham County. He will truly be missed!
