Ralph K. Anderson

Ralph K. Anderson, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Candler Hospital. Mr. Anderson was born in Savannah, son of the late Pate and Faithie Sims Anderson. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and Armstrong State University where he earned an Associates Degree. He retired from the United Postal Service after 40 years of service where he served as president of the Postal Union and the Postal Credit Union. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 135 since 1945 and a long standing member of the Savannah Volunteer Guards.

Ralph lived a long productive life and was a hero to his entire family. He always took care of us and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Birdie Anderson of Savannah; daughters, Fay Anderson Carroll of Savannah;
Pam Anderson Doubleday and her husband, Jim of Savannah; grandchildren, Todd Ebert and his wife, Katie of Waxhaw, NC; Scarlett Elizabeth Porter of Savannah; Leanna Melody Laycock of Savannah; great grandchildren, Patrick Ebert, Lilly Carver, River Mullis, Aramina Ebert and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by his son-in-law, Jim Doubleday. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

The burial will be private.
