September 05, 1925 - April 13, 2013

Mrs. Marion

Mrs. Marion "Peggy" Tyson Daley

SAVANNAH, GA – On April 13, 2013, God called home life-long Savannahian, Peggy Daley. Born September 5, 1925, Peggy was the daughter of the late George E. Tyson and Marion W. Cox Tyson.

Peggy loved her family, her friends, her home, her country and her church. She bragged to be a native Savannahian. She was a very good cook and entertained with charm. Mimi, as she was called by her grandchildren, treasured the simple pleasures in life like picnicking at Tybee, dancing at Harris's, riding her bicycle and visiting with friends. She could tell the funniest stories, loved to laugh and had a unique ability to get others to do the same. Peggy was also known to play a sharp hand of bridge.

She graduated from Savannah High School and attended North GA College where she lettered in tennis. Mimi was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, Wesley Fellowship Class, Huntingdon Club, and The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Alex F. Daley, USAF Ret. and two brothers, George and Thomas Tyson. Remaining are three children, Col. Alex F. Daley, Jr., MD, Susan Daley Greene and Nancy Daley Mersereau; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betsy Tyson Ward.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 16th at Laurel Grove Cemetery to celebrate Peggy's life with Rev. Dr. A. Jason Shirah officiating.

The family expresses highest gratitude to all of Peggy's caregivers in both Savannah and Augusta.

Memorials may be sent to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, 429 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA 31401 and the Paul Anderson Youth Home, PO Box 525, Vidalia, GA 30475.
