Emma Frances Hohnerlein
Emma Frances Hohnerlein, passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 19, 2013 at the age of 91. She was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah, GA. She and her husband were the proprietors of Hohnerlein's Meat Market located on the corner of Wheaton Street and Waters Avenue and she later retired from the K-Mart Corp. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing short stories and poetry. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband, Otto G. "Mooker" Hohnerlein, and two daughters-in-law, Nancy and Faye Hohnerlein.
She is survived by eight children, Herman and Dottie, Otto Jr., Mickey and Mary, John, Augusta and Phillip Carter, Carol, Dennis and Susan, Cynthia and Bruce Taylor. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a caring and loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be the grandsons; Keith, Kevin, Grey, Glenn, Sammy, Russell, Corey Hohnerlein and Jacob Taylor.
A Christian Wake service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with visitation afterwards until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by Father Patrick O'Brien.
Burial: The Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances: Donations can be made to the Humane Society for Greater Savannah, 7215 Sallie Mood Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.
