Charles Edward Summers
Charles Edward Summers, 64, died Sunday, April 21, 2013. He was born in Tampa, Florida to the late John and Ruby Summers. Charles was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the DAV Chapter 8, and the Vietnam Veterans #671. He was a member of the Lake Mayer Church of Christ and the Elks Lodge. He retired from The Kroger Company as a Unit Manager after more than twenty years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Mary R. Summers, sons and daughter-in-law, Edward Twain and Vickie Summers, and Thomas Missinne, daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Elaine and Stuart Abbott, and Carrie and David Chapman. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Summers and Johnny Summers, sister, Dot Merrick, grandchildren, Jessica Dianne Summers, and Robert Christopher Summers, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 3013 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
