Rosemary "Penny" Conners

SAVANNAH - Rosemary "Penny" Conners, 62, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at her residence in Savannah.
Ms. Conners was born in Savannah, GA on January 30, 1951, the daughter of the late Dominic Paul and Rosemary Hamilton Danzi. She was a graduate of Richard Arnold High School. After graduating, she married Henry Meier Conners, Jr. and they traveled extensively during his military career. At the end of his military tenure, they settled in Savannah and she began her career in ophthalmology. She began her career working with Ophthalmology Associates of Savannah, where she worked for 15 years. She went on to work for Schulze Eye and Surgery Center, where she retired after 16 years.
Ms. Conners is survived by her husband, Meier Conners of Savannah; sons, Trey Conners and Kyle Conners and wife April, all of Savannah; grandchildren, Chelsea, Brandon, Brianna, and Channing; sisters, Patricia Danzi of Atlanta, GA and Barbara Danzi Smith of Thunderbolt.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The graveside funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

ms. penny was my 'second' mother for much of my school days. kyle and I have been friends for 23 years. we were joined at the hip all through school and for some years after. I haven't seen or spoken with ms. penny in 10 years. I wish this was not so. I know that she would be so proud of me for becoming a responsible husband and father. the last time we spoke I was neither. I wish she could have met my wonderful family. I wish! I wish! I WISH! I know that she is in a much better place now. I love you mom! im sorry I wasn't a better influence for kyle. we were young and stupid. i know you are looking down on us and are extremely proud of everything kyle and i have achieved in life. i hope i can continue to make you proud. you are forever in my heart.
