Mrs. Kerry Ann Christine Gibbs Walker
Savannah- Mrs. Kerry Ann Walker was born February 8, 1983. Kerry was the eighth of nine children and she was 30 years old when she broke her earthly chains and entered into eternal rest on Thursday May 16, 2013. Kerry was a native of Wales pond District in Montego Bay Jamaica. She is survived by her husband Jerry Walker Jr.; one daughter, Rhianna Jarrett; one son, Oraine Buchanan; brother, Gary Gordon; sister, Ava-Gay Gordon; sister, Leona Gordon; brother, Omar Heather Waugh Gordon; brother, Cassius Sakenria Miller Gordon; brother, Ronald Gordon; brother, Brian Gordon; brother, Christopher Gibbs; Mother Rama Davis; father, Trevor Gibbs all of Wales pond District, Montego Bay Jamaica. There is also a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends in Savannah and in Jamaica.
Kerry was under the care of Savannah Hospice during the latter part of her illness. Employed in the hospitality field as a domestic engineer for the hotel industry, she began working in 2007. She married Mr. Jerry walker Jr. in August 2009, and diagnosed with colon cancer in 2011. Kerry expressed her wishes to belong to a church family and chose Central as her church home; on April 29, 2013, Kerry was baptized and on May 5, 2013, she was issued the Right Hand of Fellowship and welcomed to her new home. Kerry lost her battle in the fight against the deadly disease of cancer on May 16, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and friends, God called her home. Kerry's loving heart and courageous spirit, your presence here will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr. Savannah, GA., Sunday, May 19, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 20, 2013 at Central Baptist Church in Hitch Village, 738 Hitch Drive old fort/historic district, Pastor Larry J. Stell, officiating.
Interment: Family Plot in Wales Pond District, Montego Bay, Jamaica.
