Mr. James W. Hall, Sr., 83, of Savannah passed away Sunday at Memorial Health University Medical Center, following a long illness.
Mr. Hall served 26 years in the US Air Force, retiring in June 1972; then, he spent 15 years with the US Postal Service. He was a member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church, Acacia Masonic Lodge #452, VFW Post #660, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Oglethorpe Lodge #1.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn B. Hall; two daughters, Carol D. Porter David of Albany, GA, and Frances Y. Vaughn Jimmy of Savannah, GA; one son, Dennis D. Hall Tina of Gretna, VA; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Joyce Humphrey Jimmy of Savannah, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and his son, James W. Hall, Jr.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Doug McCart and Art Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at The Old Anderson Cemetery in Collins, GA, at 4:00 p.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Masonic Home of Georgia, P.O. Box 4183, Macon, GA 31208 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
