George Sinclair Ellis
George Sinclair Ellis, 90, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at The Oaks at Skidaway Island. He was born May 18, 1923 to the late Richard and Lula Jackson Ellis. George was retired from Bellsouth after 38 years of service, and was a lifelong member and Ruling Elder of Montgomery Presbyterian Church. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Southeast Boating Association and the Telephone Pioneers of America.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Buckner Ellis, his second wife Martha Anderson Ellis, and his daughter, Bonnie Molena Page.
George is survived by his daughter, Susan E. Coomer and her husband Donald, step-son, Michael A. Buckner and his wife Sharlett, step-daughter, Kathy McGraw and her husband Jack, four grandchildren, Stephen S. Coomer and his wife Megan, Richard A. Coomer and his wife Stephanie, Theodore M. Page, III, and Christopher L. Plummer. Also surviving are his four great-grandchildren, Everette Coomer, Molly Coomer, Madison Coomer, and Caroline Coomer.
Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 at Bonaventure Cemetery.
A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held following the graveside at 1:00 p.m., at his daughter's home on the marshes of the Vernon River, 9329 Whitefield Ave.
Remembrances may be made to Montgomery Presbyterian Church, 10192 Ferguson Ave, Savannah, GA 31406.
