May Wager Heap

Savannah- May Wager Heap was born on May 21, 1927, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and died on June 29, 2013.
May attended Montreal High School for Girls and Sprotts Commercial College. She was the secretary to an insurance broker in Montreal and a judge in Toronto. She also volunteered at hospitals in Montreal, Toronto, and Summit, New Jersey.
May was married in March of 1950 to Ian Heap, who predeceased her in 2006. They lived in, and travelled to, many parts of the world.
May was a founding member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. She worked on several committees as well as chairing the Altar Guild and serving as Wedding Coordinator. A kneeler, wedding cushion and priest's cushion were stitched by her as part of the beautiful set of needlepoint of St. Peter's.
May is survived by her children, Lesley Eyre of Palmdale, California, Daintry Cleary of Gainesville, Florida, Diane Davey of Maplewood, New Jersey, and Ian Heap, Jr., of Savannah, Georgia; sons-in-law, David Eyre, Christopher Cleary, and Ian Davey and daughter-in-law, Meg Heap; grandchildren, Dan, Jen, Jaime, Eric, Clarice, Peter, Ian III, and Charlie; and great-grandchildren, Jessica and Colton. May was predeceased by her sister, Pat Bigelow of British Columbia, Canada.
May's funeral will be on Thursday, July 11th at 10:00 am followed by a reception at 11:30 am, both to be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Skidaway Island.
