Mary Jane Fahey Brown

SAVANNAH - Mary Jane Fahey Brown, 94, died at Buckingham South, her home for the past year, on September 3, 2013 in the presence of loved ones. She was born in Savannah on April 8, 1919, to Anna and Michael Fahey, the second of six children. A 1936 graduate of St. Vincent's Academy, she was the last surviving member of her class.
She married Henry Sulter Brown on September 18, 1948. They lived in Savannah, Monroe, Michigan, and Montgomery, Alabama before returning to Savannah in 1967. Henry died in 2009.
Mary Jane was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She loved family gatherings and parties and particularly enjoyed the friendship of the Friday Bridge Club.
She is survived by a son, Hal Angela Brown of Cape Girardeau, MO, grandchildren Traci Todd Watts of Wetumpka, AL, Ryan Brown of Charleston, SC, Erica Brown of St. Louis, MO, brothers Tom Josie Fahey of Cleveland, TN, Eddie Fahey of Springfield, GA, sister-in-law, Esther Ryan Brown of Savannah, great-grandchildren Cade, Eleanor Frances, and Payne Watts of Wetumpka, AL, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Mike Fahey, her husband, Henry, and sisters, Lillian Fahey Clark, Anne Fahey Counihan, and Marie Fahey
Visitation for family and friends will be at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, on Friday, September 6, from 4pm to 6pm with rosary at 5:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, September 7, at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Savannah. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.

They wish to thank the wonderful staff at Buckingham South for their loving care and concern for Mary Jane during her year there and Lucy Gilpin, her Hospice nurse who always went above and beyond for her as well as her many friends and relatives who visited and played cards with her.
