SAVANNAH – Dollann E. Parker, 56, passed away December 28, 2013 at her home.
Born January 2, 1957, she lived in Brooklyn, NY from childhood until graduation from the University of Chicago, prior to her marriage to Martin Vincent Parker, Sr. on August 30, 1980. She attended P.S. 243 Brooklyn Isaac Newton School, Brooklyn City College, where she received a BA Degree in Social Work, and the University of Chicago, where she received a Masters Degree in Psychology.
Dollann moved around all over the United States during her husband's service in the United States Marine Corps and her marriage to Vincent. She lived in New Bern, North Carolina, San Diego, California, Long Island, New York, Lanham Seabrook, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. before moving to Savannah.
Dollann was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and held an independent private practice in Lanham, Maryland. She was licensed to practice her profession in the State and City of New York, the District of Columbia, and the States of Maryland, California, and Georgia.
Dollann was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Landover, Maryland where she served on the Usher Board.
Surviving are her husband of thirty-three years, Martin Vincent Parker, Sr.; her son, Martin Vincent Parker, II of San Diego, CA; a sister, Dottie Austin of Brooklyn, NY; two nephews, Gregory Austin of South Carolina and Ralphie Elias of New York City; nieces, Brenda Austin, Gloria Austin, Sherry Lansford, and Lisa Austin, and Linda Austin, all of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Pierce Parker, Jr. of Rockville, MD; sisters-in-law, Stephanie Haygood, Camille Parker, and Margaret Bailey, all of Delaware, and Chonice Fisher of Virginia Beach, VA; and a host of Grand-Nephews and Nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Gladys Elias, her father, Mr. Louis Elias, a sister, Ernestine Hernandez, a brother, Louis Elias, Jr., a brother-in-law, Frank Austin, and her uncle, Clifford.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
