SAVANNAH - Miss Jacqueline F. Tolbert, 84, died on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Rock Hill, SC.
Miss Tolbert was born in Savannah to Luther L. and Belva Beacham Tolbert and lived in Savannah for the past 84 years. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension. She retired as a Registered Nurse from Memorial Medical Center after 24 years of service. Miss Tolbert graduated from Commercial High School in 1948 and from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1952. She worked at the Savannah Morning New & Press prior to attending nursing school. She was a Rainbow Girl and received the Grand Cross of Color. Miss Tolbert was also an Industrial Nurse at Union Camp for 13 years.
She is survived by her sister, Lois T. Dasher: two nephews and spouses, Luther W. Dasher and Diane of Fort Mill, SC, Glenn T. Dasher and Sally of Huntsville, AL, and one niece and spouse, Lisette D. Branscomb and Jack of Lilburn, GA.; three great-nephews, Gregory, Glenn and John; and two great-nieces, Rachel and Katie.
Visitation: 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Interment: Bonaventure Cemetery
Remembrances may be given, in lieu of flowers, to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the Humane Society.
