Donna "Lisa" Segroves (Hall) VonWaldner
Passed away on July 06, 2019
Donna “Lisa” Segroves (Hall) VonWaldner of Wilmington Island, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on July 6, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Charles L. VonWaldner, her daughter Melissa (John) Adams of Black Creek, GA, and her son Michael (Brittany) Hall of Wilmington Island, GA; her grandchildren Avery, Emery and Harrison Adams; Anna and Harper Hall; step-children Kristen VonWaldner Paris, Lindsay VonWaldner Almeida, Caroline VonWaldner Mobley.
Lisa was born August 13, 1960 in Nashville, Tennessee where she enjoyed her childhood and adolescence and graduated from McGavock High School. She married in 1979 and shortly thereafter moved to Wilmington Island, GA, where she made her new home and raised her family. She attended Armstrong State College where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and started her career as a Registered Nurse. As an RN she cared for the citizens and students of Chatham County as the school nurse of May Howard Elementary School. Later she worked in local hospitals, prior to becoming the Director of Nursing at Azalealand Nursing Home where she worked until retiring.
Lisa enjoyed playing tennis and competed with many USTA teams in local area leagues and tournaments. She also enjoyed water sports, including boating, jet skiing and tubing and would never say no to a day on the water. Having grown up in the “Music City”, Lisa enjoyed all types of music. She was especially fond of live music and loved attending concerts of her favorite bands.
In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her four siblings: Terry (Linda) Segroves, Colleen Spain, Glenn (Irma) Segroves, Tammy (Mike) Cheek and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 11th, 2019.
Graveside services will be held at the Family Cemetery at Adams Plantation in Black Creek, GA at 2 pm on Friday, July 12, 2019.
