A summation of his death:
On February 1, 2014 my father, George Fitzallen Ellis III, passed away early in the morning. He was with his Fiancé, Terri Jenkins, at her home when he was found. George claimed to be feeling a bit ill that evening, and decided to go to bed a little bit early. This was not unusual for him. Mrs. Jenkins stated she got up around 3:30 am to let her animals outside, because they were barking loudly. It was then that she discovered my father in bed, no longer breathing. He passed away in his sleep at the age of 62.
For his friends and family in the community:
George will be cremated and a memorial service will be held this week in his honor. It will be held at the church George Ellis and Terri Jenkins routinely attended toward the end of his life, at Central Baptist church in Garden City. The service will begin at eleven am, with a small reception to follow. The reception will be located in the church's dinning hall, and some food and refreshments will be provided courtesy of his friends and family in the community. Please join us in celebrating his memory and mourning our loss.

A note from his children:
George was not only a wonderful man, honest husband, and hardworking employee, but he was also a world class father. He always managed to provide for his family and never managed to forget his family's needs. He and his wife Debbie Ellis of 25 plus years of marriage maintained a love that persisted until her untimely death. They provided their children with an example of perseverance, respect, love, and compromise in a functional relationship. Our father made sure we knew how much we were worth and that we were always loved, no matter what. He and our mother both were active in our hobbies, plays/musicals, recitals, competitions, sports, and other various activities while we were growing up. He was respected in his profession and in his community. We will always be grateful for the guidance, love, shelter, comfort, life lessons, and joy that came from growing up with a father like George Ellis. It will be difficult to fill the void that is our loss, we could not have asked for a better father and friend. We will miss you always, dad.
