Laura first reached out to me after my own diagnosis with leiomyosarcoma. We had been emailing, but she said she was curious to know what my voice and New Zealand accent sounded like. Since we both enjoyed using our Apple devices, we began to facetime. In 2013 it was possible for me to visit her in person. I'm so glad I did that now. .I will miss her calls and support. There was one thing she couldn’t do, yet it never stopped her from being a wife and mother – which I think was the only thing she really wanted to be. I’m sure she never took that gift for granted, not matter how difficult the task. She was never normal to me, she was never handicapped either, she was just incredibly brave – and she never even knew it. But to me – she will always be my hero.
