Celebrating the life of
David L. Carver
April 24, 1942 - March 12, 2014
SAVANNAH - David Carver, 71, died March 12, 2014 at home under the care of Hospice Savannah, surrounded by his loving wife, Susan.
He was born April 24, 1942 in Charleston, WV and lived in Savannah most of his life.
"Papa" Dave was a positive influence to so many people. His motto was "always treat people the way you want to be treated" and it showed in his daily life. Anyone could come to him for advice or help without fear of judgement.
Although disabled most of his life, he never let it slow him down. Whether he was tinkering in his tool shed or throwing parties in the yard, he was always busy.
Surviving is his wife, Susan P Carver; his children, Jennifer "Becky", Phillip, Aundria, Carla, Joanne "JJ", William "Billy", and Ginger; his grandchildren Christian, David, Lucas, Cameron, Zyon, and Christopher; sister Marilyn; several nieces and nephews, and many cousins that were brothers and sisters to him. Special thanks to Kevin for all his help during Papa Dave's recent illness.
Memorial Services will be held at Fox and Weeks Chapel at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive between Eisenhower and Mall Blvd on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 4:00 pm. There will also be a celebration of his life in true Papa Dave style on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the yard at his home.
