Edward Wood Bremer
Edward Wood Bremer, 77, died early Saturday morning at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Schenectady, New York to the late John Wesley Bremer and Gertrude Wood Bremer. He attended the University of Maine and did graduate work at Union College. After serving in the U.S. Army as a criminal investigator he returned to Schenectady to work at a local newspaper. He then opened an advertising agency, which he moved to Bethesda, Maryland. The following years he moved his family to Lyme, Connecticut where he established Nature's Aide Vitamin's, Inc.
Ed enjoyed sailing with the Hamburg Cove Yacht Club where he served as secretary for many years as well as Fleet Captain. Ed was a member of the Old Lyme Country Club, and St. Ann's Episcopal Church where he served as Junior Warden.
After moving to Savannah he joined St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Rotary, and The Landings Club.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Margret, their daughter Suzanne, and son Edward Jr., four grandchildren, a brother Jack, and a sister Carol.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coastal Conservation Association, 6919 Portwest Drive, Houston, TX 77024.
