Celebrating the life of
Lauren Shannon Brown Smart
July 10, 1979 - June 07, 2014
Lauren Shannon Brown Smart passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at age 34. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul and those of us left behind on earth are full of sadness and loss. Lauren loved life, adventure, and the sand beneath her feet; but most of all, she loved her children, Brayden and Phoenix, more than anything. Lauren had tremendous energy and everyone around her could feel her presence when she entered the room; she was so full of life and magnetism and could draw one into her sphere and we were better because of it. Lauren also strived to better herself through education and received an Associate Degree in Marketing from Savannah Technical College and then a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Savannah State University.
Lauren is preceded in death by paternal Grandparents; Henry Jerry Brown and Bernadine Osborne Brown; maternal Grandmother, Myrtle Randall Cox; Uncle, Gerald Winford Eddins, Sr. and Cousin, Paul Evan Bryan. Lauren was a wonderful and loving mother and leaves behind: Sons, Brayden and Phoenix Smart; Parents, Barry and Sunni Brown; Grandfather, Louis E. Cox; Brother, Brandon Brown; Nephews, Colby and Tyler Brown; Aunts, Geraldine Brown Eddins, Mickey (Lynn) Boyles, Randi (Steven) Bryan and Cathy Brown; Uncles, William "Bubba" (Dee) Brown, Ronnie (Connie) Brown; Cousins, Aaron (Leigh Elizabeth) Bryan, Jason (Mandy) Boyles, Jeffrey (Christy) Boyles, Jay Brown, Kiley (Braun) Sheppard, Danny Brown, Hope Brown, Paul (Christy) Brown, Gerald (Kay) Eddins, Jr., Mike Eddins, Richard (Cathy) Eddins, Steve (Rebecca) Eddins, Brian Eddins and special Daughter-in-law Nancy Newlands Brown.
The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Lauren's children, Brayden and Phoenix, C/O Sundra Brown at any First Chatham Bank location. "A smile only lasts a few minutes but the memory of it lasts forever".
