Celebrating the life of
Loy Tindol Smith
Passed away on July 20, 2019

Loy Tindol Smith, age 71, went to her heavenly home on July 20, 2019.
At her side was her loving husband of 53 years, Ronald H. “Ronnie” Smith. Additional surviving loved ones include her two sons, Roger H. Smith and Steve R. Smith, their spouses Kevin Peek and Brandi W. Smith, and two granddaughters, Ellie and Olivia Smith.
Loy was born in Savannah on November 16, 1947, and remained in her home city throughout her life. She was the daughter of Jenness and Mary Tindol, who predeceased her, and the sister of Earl Tindol (JoAnn) of Gastonia, North Carolina, and Richard Tindol, Sr. (Terry) of Savannah. Compassion and joy were Loy’s perennial gifts to everyone in her family and to her circle of dear friends.
A period of visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in the Savannah Room at Calvary Baptist Temple, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilder Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Please sign our online guestbook.
I am so sorry to hear about Loy. It is my prayer that you all receive the peace of God that surpasses all understanding during this time. He will give you strength and peace of mind and heart as the days go by.

Dear Ronnie, Roger, and Steve, Jay and I had no idea that sweet Loy had died. We are so very sorry to have missed her service on July 23rd..we were out of town and somehow missed it being in the paper. Thank you very much for sending the program from her service to us...that is when we found out about her passing. We both have the best memories of Loy throughout the many years she worked in the office. She was always such a joyful presence with the kindest face and words that will not ever be forgotten. Through the years, Loy did not miss one birthday for either of us, but remembered our special day by sending a lovely card each and every year! Truly amazing! Once again, we offer our heartfelt condolences to your whole family...she loved you all so much, and was extremely proud of her boys and grandchildren!! Most Sincerely, Jay and Dana Yeckley

Ronnie and Family, Loy and I were very best friends in High School. If you remember Ronnie, the four of us went to every school dance, prom, graduation together. I guess the last time I saw the two of you was our 20th reunion. So sorry we lost touch. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Loy was an earth angel and now a Heavenly Angel. I am so sad but she is in a wonderful place!

To Ronnie, Roger, kevin , Steve and family. My heart goes out to you in your loss. Doo and I have known your family for almost 30 years. As quests of your hospitality and friendship, Loy was always most welcoming, gracious with a gift for making one feel comfortable. She suffered long and hard and finally came to peace. Her beliefs were her comfort. Her three loving devoted men helped sustain her hopes. Goodbye sweet lady, you will be remembered most fondly.
