Cynthia Townsend Bolling, 87, died July 3, 2014.

Born and raised in Jacksonville Florida, she was a resident of Savannah for 56 years. She was a graduate of Converse College and was an elementary school teacher in her early career and continued her interest in education later in life as a tutor with The Royce Learning Center for students with Specific Learning Disabilities. She was married to the late Robert William Bolling, Jr. and they lived in Chicago for 5 years before they transferred to Savannah with Union Camp Corporation. She was an active member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, the Junior League, the Froebel Circle, the Garden Club of Savannah and the Savannah Yacht Club. She also worked as a tour guide for many years at the Juliette Gordon Low House.

She is survived by her son Robert William Bolling III of Savannah; her daughter Louise Bolling Collins and son-in-law John Frederick Collins, Jr of Alexandria, VA; her brothers, Vernon and James Townsend of Jacksonville, Florida, her grandchildren John Frederick Collins, III and Elizabeth Bolling Collins of Alexandria, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
