Emilia Barrinat Babot

Emilia Barrinat Babot, 86, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Savannah Cottages under the care of Islands Hospice.
She was born in Cuba on April 5, 1928 to Pedro and Ana Barrinat. She moved to the United States in 1956. Mrs. Babot worked in the Housekeeping Department at St. Joseph's Hospital for over seventeen years. She was a longtime volunteer with the Martin de Porres Society of Savannah and a Communicant of St. James Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fernando Babot.
Surviving are her three sons and their wives, Bobby Babot (Susan), Roy Babot (Kaye), and Richard Babot (Stephanie); ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July, 15, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church with a Rosary to be held at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
