Bruce Howard Crane
March 18, 1937 - July 18, 2014
Bruce Howard Crane, 77, passed away Friday July 18, 2014, at Candler Hospital after a brief illness. Bruce was born in Warrenton, Virginia, March 18th, 1937. He served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He spent his career as a Master Mechanic and there was nothing that Bruce could not fix. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, metal crafting, and cooking.
Bruce is survived by his sons, Jason Howard Crane and spouse Cara, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Samuel Scott Crane of Bloomingdale, Georgia. Three grandchildren, Blake and Evan Crane of Anchorage, Alaska, and Audrey Crane of Bloomingdale, Georgia. Two brothers, Ernest Crane of Flint Hill, Virginia and Oliver Crane of Kilmarnock, Virginia. Four sisters, Catholen McGrady, Alma Bailey, JoAnn Fristoe, and Onile Salisbury, all of Front Royal, Virginia. One God Daughter, Jamie Irvin, of Swainsboro, Georgia along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bruce had many friends and neighbors that he loved dearly. He was a caring, loving, humble man who believed in paying it forward.
Visitation will be held at his home at 152 River Road Spur in Bloomingdale, Georgia from 5-8pm Tuesday July 22, 2014. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jason Crane, 20612 Mountain Vista Dr. Eagle River, AK 99577, to cover funeral and medical expenses.
