LOVING, CARING FOR AND GIVING TO OTHERS
SHIRLEY HARN BRUNER
18 May 49 – 02 September 14
On May 18, 1949, an angel of love was sent to earth by way of Elliott Payton Harn and Edna McGuire Harn. She was given the earthly name of Shirley Shilene Harn. Shirley lived all 65 years of her life loving, caring for, and giving to others, even when it was of great sacrifice to her. At a very young age, Shirley helped care for and raise her younger siblings, Yvonne Harn Stringer, Joyce Harn Schuman, Tyra Harn Wilson and Richard Darnell Harn. She became a second mother to them through such love and devotion. That love and devotion never waned, and spread to all those who encountered her path. Her daily calls, her bear hugs, her infectious laughter and her sense of humor will be forever a missing link in our lives. On the 2nd of September 2014, Shirley departed earth surrounded by those she called her children. The hearts of her family, her nieces and nephews, her cousins and devoted friends will forever carry the memories she leaves behind.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Shirley was a very special lady. She was wonderful to my Mother in her last months here on earth. Shirley was so kind to come to help and come so far.. She was a true blessing to all of us. She truly had a gift of helping others, and showing them love. She truly was an example of the hands and feet of Christ. We are thankful to have known her.

So sorry for you all. Shirley was a truly lovely person and wonderful neighbor. Always willing to help. I will miss our chats. Gary would laugh at her fear of snakes and how she would call him to get rid of them. Shirley rest in peace and know we will miss you so.
