Janie G. Culver

SAVANNAH - Mrs. Janie G. Culver passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

A longtime resident of Savannah Mrs. Culver retired from Southern Bell after 30 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She was a member of Bull Street Baptist Church and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her retirement years caring for her family.

Surviving are her loving husband of 28 years, Jimmy C. Culver; her children, Lynn Zeigler (Don Brannen), Tom Sullivan (Louise), and Carol Sullivan Baker (Andy); a sister, Mary Agnes Hagins of California; 6 grandchildren, Barry Zeigler (Cecilia), Aubrea Mobley, Lauren Durrence (Chase), Ceanne Sullivan, Matthew Kicklighter (Kelly), and Joshua Kicklighter (Jacqueline); 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, James Sullivan, a daughter, Ceanne Sullivan, and 2 sisters, Dot and Geneva.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 25, from 6-8 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, September 26, at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.

Interment will follow at 4:00 PM at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.

Jimmy, I am so sorry you have lost your best friend .....I remember when Cynthia and I came to your house at lunch and Janie had cooked us fried chicken. You always were kind to her and showed so much love. I remember you calling her "my Janie" all the time. I think about you often over the years ;especially when I am in the middle of town. Mrs Janie made my Fridays she was the most amazing woman she always had a smile on her face and you never knew when she was sick she always hide her sickness she made sure she gave me a hug and a kiss when she walked in salon and never ever walked out without telling me she loved me I left Bedie's a yr ago and did not get to say goodbye heavens now has a amazing woman I miss her dearly please heavens above take care of her as her husband Jimmy did he is a wonderful loving caring most generous man thanks Jimmy for all you did for Janie love you as well can't believe your gone Janie
