John “Jackie” David Woods

John David Woods, 86, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his residence. He served in the U.S. Army before the Korean Conflict.  He was a Catholic Brother for Oblates of St. Francis DeSales in Rome for 17 years, and a Docent for the past 12 years at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah.  He worked for Acme Grocery Stores in New Jersey for 19 years.

Jackie is survived by his two brothers, William Langheim, of Philadelphia, PA, and Henry Woods, of Tamaqua, PA, and an aunt Lillian Yansick, of New Jersey. He is also survived by a dedicated friend, William Hendrix, and several cousins and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, with burial in Bonaventure Cemetery.
